Miracle Blog Hop
Welcome to the Miracle Blog Hop. You should have arrived from Janet's blog but if you just happened upon my page and would like to start at the beginning, please visit Melissa's blog. I am so excited to be a part of this hop and share my miracle story. It is a very long story so I'll try to shorten it up. Basically my twin girls survived a rare disorder called twin to twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS) This is a very rare syndrome that only occurs in a very small percentage of identical twins. In identicals they are sharing the same sac and placenta, blood source etc. Twin B (Megan) was the 'donor' Twin A (Morgan) was the 'recipient' meaning getting more than her share of food, nutrients etc where Megan was not getting enough. I cannot even begin to describe the amount of miracles we endured during this pregnancy. One was making it to 36 weeks without surgical intervention, being induced and giving birth to two healthy, tiny little sweethearts who came home from the hospital with us weighing 4lbs 11oz (Morgan) and 3lbs 15oz (Megan). We were told from when we found out we were having twins (at 11 weeks) that they had TTTS and it was so early on that it is considered chronic and when it is chronic less than 10% will have even one baby survive but we had both survive and beat the odds so if that isn't a miracle, I don't know what is. They are very healthy preschoolers who are both physically and mentally on target with their peers- another miracle for preemies. We are so beyond blessed I am thankful every day! Thank you for taking the time to read my story and please hop over to Kimberly's blog. Here are all the participants in case you get lost:
